The Yancy View Hider is a website designed to catalouge the findings on a burnt laptop discovered in room 513 of the Yancy View Hotel, as well as any other oddities about the hotel I could find. If you have not read the welcome page yet, I recommend you do so before continuing.
What is the Yancy View Hotel?
The Yancy view is a since demolished hotel in the region of Boring Oregon. It was closed in 2022 and demolished in 2024. There are currently plans to convert the land into apartments, but due to the age of the building they needed to tear it down and rebuild it from the ground up.
Why did it close?
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic the hotel had to temporarily close from 2020-2021 to comply with social distancing restrictions. After reopening late 2021, business never fully recovered, and it would close later in 2022
Have you spoken to the owners of the hotel?
I have reached out the the previous owners of the hotel, but they weren't much help. I got the sense that they thought I was pulling a prank and didn't feel like entertaining me. I don't blame them. The Yancy View was an old building that changed hands quite a few times during it's life. If I can find any contact to the previous owners, I'll reach out to them.
Do you know who left the laptop?
No. This is something that I am still looking into, however finding records from the hotels history is difficult.
